Show Rules

Competitions are run under British Dressage rules with the addition of the following club rules:

  1. Riding hats with a 3 point fixing and to current British standard must be worn.
  2. Competitors must check in with the steward at least 20 minutes before their time and also enquire if the class is running to time.
  3. Please ensure that droppings, hay, straw and litter are removed from all venues.
  4. Anyone requiring a commander for their test should make their own arrangements.
  5. Entries are taken on a first come, first served basis, please ensure an SAE is always provided.
  6. As a courtesy to organisers, would competitors please ring for times on the correct date and between the stated times.
  7. If withdrawing from a show, please contact the organiser within 48 hours of the show taking place in order that your time may be reallocated.
  8. Horses must not be left unattended unless they are safely secured inside a lorry or trailer.
  9. A responsible adult must accompany juniors at all times. Junior membership is for anyone who is 16 or under on 1st January (the commencement of the club year).
  10. Entries for stallions are by arrangement with the committee prior to submitting an entry. A stallion sash must be worn while working in.
  11. Please note that dogs are not permitted at Blaby Mill. For events at other venues please check with the organiser and if they are allowed always keep them on a lead.
  12. Points are awarded for placings that count towards the club championships. Championship trophies are presented annually at the AGM for Introductory to Advanced classes. In addition there is an overall points trophy for the competitor accumulating the most points in any class from Intro to Medium. There is a trophy for dressage to music, which is presented at each show where this class is run. A special rosette is awarded for all horse rider combinations being promoted out of restricted sections.
  13. Members riding veteran horses (rising 15 at the start of the season) will accumulate veteran horse points and a trophy will be awarded at the AGM for the highest points earned by a single eligible horse and rider combination.
  14. The organisers decision is final.
