March Chairmans Update
What a brilliant start to the 2003, I know it seems like Christmas and the New
Year were ages away, but honest it wasn't that far. We have had a lot of new
members join since then, so this is probably their first letter, therefore I
would like to welcome all of you to our club on behalf of the committee, and
we hope you have a great time and a lot of success, we also look forward to
meeting all of you at some time in the future. If any of you have any ideas
you would like the committee to raise at our next meeting please don't hesitate
to contact one of us and we will discuss it. Also don't forget you can obtain
up to the minute information from our web site, it is continually being up
dated thanks to Steve. There will be a short report after each show as there
will be after each committee meeting so keep logging on.
The training keeps happening if any one would like to try one of our regular
trainers please don't hesitate to contact me. Great news is that Jorge Peiera
is coming back in March for four days all the information is on the training
schedule. If anyone would like us to arrange a clinic with a different trainer
please contact me and we will talk about it.
I hope those of you who went to the winter semi finals did well, Claire Gordon
is going to Addington, as is Mary Jo Crawford and Viv Evans so let's hope
it goes well for them and well done on getting there. Don't forget to keep in
touch as the grapevine doesn't always work in the right direction and we
like to know if our members are doing well away from the club too. The show season
is upon us soon and I know some of our members like to concentrate on that in the
summer so good luck to them. Also some of or members prefer to go eventing so
good luck to them too.
We have now arranged our summer venue, we will be going to Blaby Mill for May,
June, August and September, the dates are decided but the schedules will be
sent out at a later date. The facilities are excellent there is a 60 metre
all weather outdoor arena and a 40 metre indoor warm up arena with plenty of
hard standing and we are hoping our regular caterer from Brooksby will provide
refreshments so lots to look forward to in the summer.
Every one who attended the Laura Dawson evening had a great time the food was
good as was the talk so thanks must go to Rachael for organising the evening
and to Laura who donated her time free of charge so that any profit made from
the evening will go to our chosen charity for the year, which is the I.L.P.H.
We have just sent a cheque to Sport Relief for £140 which was our chosen
charity for 2002 so thanks again for your support.
Keep sending in your entries and good luck to every one in the coming season.
