April Chairmans Update

What a month March has been, who can believe all this sun! It certainly put a few smiles on peoples faces and made the winter seem a lot shorter. Let's hope we continue to have some good weather, it certainly helps keep us in better spirits.

The shows keep going from strength to strength, we have now decided to cap entries at 65 as this makes a manageable, but long, day, starting at 9:15am and finishing at 6:00pm. Please try to get you entries in early as members do take precedence before the closing date. We have had to run a waiting list at every show recently so the demand is great.

The training is still growing, we still have Clair Gordon and Spencer Wilton on a regular basis, but now we are very lucky to have Jorge Periera on a regular basis as well. There are spaces available at the clinics, if anyone is interested please don't hesitate to contact either myself or another committee member if you would like any further information. I must take this opportunity to thank Michelle for her continued support and the use of her indoor facilities for training over the winter months, we are now moving outdoors but I'm sure we'll be back next winter as it is an absolute godsend. Thank you Michelle.

Clair Gordon and Spencer Wilton are both competing at the Winter Championships, as are Ann Mette Brown, Fiona Truman and Mary Jo Crawford, the latter are competing in the PetPlan Area Festival finals. We would like to wish them all a great deal of luck and hope they do well. If any of you are there keep an eye out for the above member's names, I'm sure they'd like you to go and support them.

We only have one show left at Brooksby for this season, which has been great, so I feel I must thank everyone at Brooksby for their continued support, especially Kim Knightley. Now we are looking forward to our new summer venue, Blaby Mill, which I'm sure will be equally successful, once everyone gets themselves acclimatised. Don't forget Mr Dean the caterer will be attending Blaby too. He has very kindly donated 3 throphies to the club to show his appreciation for our support and continued business, so don't forget to thank him.

We have decided to introduce an extra trophy this year, for the summer only for a start. There will be points awarded for the highest placed verteran horse in each class and at the end of the season the points will be added together and the highest will receive a trophy at the A.G.M. So remember so mark your entry if your horse is 15 or over. Good luck to all you more senior steeds!

Keep enjoying the competing along with everything else you do!
