Area 5 News

There is a lot happening in the club at the moment, mostly because we are now officially an affiliated riding club, which means we can enter teams for Area 5 competitions. There is a riding club championship in September and the qualifier for this is in July. There are also points competitions throughout the summer, these are inter club competitions for teams but individual points are carried to the end of the season, anyone interested in riding in the teams or as an individual please see the form with the latest newsletter which must be returned to me promptly, as the first competition is in May.

All of the venues are in the Warwickshire area. There is only one junior competition and that is on the doorstep at Atherstone R.C. on 31 st July.

Although we are a dressage club our members can compete in the other disciplines, but they would have to organise that for themselves. The dates and information will be put on the web site when we have it all confirmed.

We did send a team to the winter championships in the inter riding club competition, they came a very creditable 8 th out 15 which for the first attempt and the last minute substitutions was extremely well done. So they deserve a pat on the back, and the neck, they were Rachael Gordon on Madame Briot, Fiona Truman, who very boldly took over from the normal jockey due to her accident, on Moet Maverick, Helen Trivett on Roulette 'S' who kindly stood in at the last minute, and Clare Towers on Oakwood spirit. Well done all of you.
