Club News
It seems along time ago that I wrote to you, but I feel I've seen a lot of you at the last two
shows, both of which went extremely well. The March show was run very well by Emma with a littler help
from myself, so thank you Emma and all her helpers for another enjoyable show. The April show was just
last week and was run by Viv, it was her first show, and she made a very good job of it too, especially
as she had a few problems in the catering department, or lack of it! So I must thank everyone who turned
a hand to help with the supplying of food for the judges, it was extremely well appreciated. I hope
Brooksby gets its catering sorted out in the future. Thank you too to all Viv's helpers that too
was appreciated by everyone.
Don't forget your Stephen Clarke tickets, we still have a few left so tell your friends, we have
enclosed another ticket application form with the latest newsletter.
Viv now has the new Hinckley clothing, it was on display at the last show and will be at the future
ones. It seems very good quality and very reasonably priced, Viv will take orders if she doesn't
have your size available.
I think things didn't go quite to plan for a number of our members who had qualified for the winter
finals and semi-finals, so better luck next year and keep trying.
Congratulations must go to Louise Justesen who took the Novice restricted title at the Winter
Championships especially as she is still a junior, well done Louise and good luck for the rest
of the season.
Congratulations also to our members who were at the Area Festival Final, the ones
I know about were, Rachael Gordon, Heather Parnham, Sarah Lyndsey and Mary Jo Crawford who won the
Pet Plan Area Festival final at Novice level on Class Act 4
th.
Also well done to Leanne Ritchie who actually qualified two horses for the combined training
championships but unfortunately had an accident and was unable to go, so better luck next year
to Leanne.
It is good to see so many of our members at some of the larger events it's inspirational for the
rest of us.
We have some interesting clinics arranged for the summer, including ones to help improve peoples test
riding and to help in the preparation for dressage to music, these are additional to our regular
trainers so any one who's interested have a go they are arranged for your benefit, so come and enjoy.
Some people ask me about the trainers and say that they don't think they are up to that level but the
trainers are there to help you so please talk to me and come and have a look then you can have a go too.
Thank you too to the people involved in the video competition the results of this will be in the next
letter.
And finally we have decided to run all long arena tests in the summer as to take full advantage of
the lovely arena at Blaby Mill so please come and have a go, once you have tried them I think you will
enjoy them, there's more space to get things sorted out which gives you more time between movements
too.
Good luck and enjoy the summer,
