Club News
I hope you are all having a good summer, shame about the weather, but hopefully it's not stopping
you getting out there competing and enjoying your hobby.
Now that we are a riding club we have sent some teams to area 5 competitions, anyone interested in
riding in the teams don't hesitate to contact me. Both days have been extremely successful and
enjoyable. Next year we can send more teams, as we know a little more about the system now. Well done
to Steve Mudford, Lorna Ellen Johnson, Cheryl Brown, Lisa Swanick, Ann Hall, Janet Helft,
Cathy Rowbottom and Claire Towers also Rebecca Holt and Fiona Tuman, and Thank you for representing
the club.
Some riders were involved in a video competition earlier in the year, their tests were videoed and
marked on a normal show day and another dressage club (ISIS) did the same thing then another judge
marked them from the videos. It was a bit of fun but our riders won, so congratulations to Ann Hall,
Claire Towers, Sarah Lyndsey and Charlotte Jackson who was the actual overall winner. Well done all
of you. This same club are now talking about an actual competition between us, so watch this space.
The start of our next club year, October, is the 30
th anniversary for the club so we would
like to celebrate this fantastic milestone throughout the year. One thing which we are already working
on is a special evening at Brooksby college on Friday 29
th October we have secured
Steven Clarke, an International (List 1) dressage judge who is actually judging at the
Olympics, to come along and hold a presentation evening. So put that date in your diary's, as
members and their guests will have preference to obtain their tickets. Further information will be
sent out at a later date.
On a lighter note as anyone lost their trousers? Apparently a pair were found in the ladies at
Brooksby so a committee member as rescued them please contact Fran Dean 07787 788589 for further
details.
Can you please refrain from taking dogs to Blaby Mill as the owner prefers us not to take them,
I'm sorry the schedule was misprinted for the summer season.
British Dressage Regional finals are all about to take place so good luck to anyone who has qualified,
I only know of Leanne Ritchie, Denise Wainright and Heather Holmes so good luck and try your best.
Please contact me with your news as it's nice to know what you are all up to.
