Club News

Welcome to the start of our 30 th year. We would like to make this year special one for the club and its members, some of you may already be aware that we have changed our rosettes purposely for the year. It would be nice to think every member will own one of these as a memento of this occasion.

We have chosen two charities to support during this year, as we intend to have some social fund raising events, the ILPH being the horse one and LOROS being the other. We hope you agree they are two very deserving charities and we look forward to seeing you at some of these events. If anyone has any fund raising ideas or would like to help, please contact me or another committee member.

We have decided to only run short arena tests at Brooksby during the winter months. This is for two reasons, firstly the time factor and secondly so that we don't have to use the dreaded hut.

Unfortunately We have become victims of our own success, which is fantastic, but we have to restrict our shows to 70 entries as this makes the competition day 9 hours long which is more than enough for organisers to cope with on a cold winter's day, so it is first come first served. Remember that members will always be given priority so make sure your membership is up to date.

We are very sorry that sometimes people have a long wait between classes 1 and 2 but this is due to the large classes. We don't accept more than 30 in the prelim as it's not fair to expect the judge to sit for more than 3 hours, but as there is only 1 competition arena this all takes time. We do try to keep everyone's wait the same. There is less time to wait between the other classes as they are considerably smaller so there is an incentive to try the higher levels.

The training organised by the club is available to everyone so if anyone would like to chat about it or come along and have a look, or just come and have a session with a club trainer please contact me. They are all very good and very used to working with people and horses of different levels. We have prelim to advanced riders at most sessions.

If anyone can help in any way please let us know as writers and stewards are always well received and looked after, the more help we have the more we can organise.

Well done to all the people who collected trophies and prizes from the A.G.M it was nice to see such a good turn out. We hope to see more of you collecting awards at next year's A.G.M.

If you haven't already renewed your membership please contact Denise on 07989 333527.
